to continue my first question yes l can hear a clicking from the fuse box area on the passenger side when the key goes to the on position. l simply dont understand what happened! it cranked just fine 30 minutes prior and ive never had any problems with the truck.

clicking noise;;;usually r cause by,,,battery dead,,loose connection from the Ground or positive source.
im sure u already check ur battery terminal if they r dirty
faint click noise is different;;cause by open circuit,,like ur clutch switch or neutral switch,,or starter solenoid & ignition switch too.open wire some where on connectors will do the same
of course there r other cause but this r the most likely problem
so the only things u could do is make sure ur battery & terminals r ok, visual inspection will get some result sometimes ,,
but if u have a volt meter ($1.99 when on sale at harbor freight )check ur battery voltage on the battery cable terminals,do it while some body is starting the car,,if ur reading,are below 9 volts, ur battery is the problem, if it stay 12 volts, u have an open circuit,
Laud click,,,starter , laud clicking noise,,,weak battery
