It could be the inertia switch, located in the trunk on the drivers side, under the carpet, or it could be the ignition fuse. I'd start by checking all fuses first. There is a little BLACK box under the plastic in front of the radiator, that has something to do with the drive ability of your car, or it could be the processor, located behind the kick panel on the passenger side. Good luck!

if the engine turns over & ur headlights work then the problem is not the alternator.ford has a module usually attached to the distributor, ignition module(its the new points) but it controls the fuel & other stuff, part of the computer system,i believe they can be tested at most part stores if u can get it removed ,usually needs a special tool to remove .most auto repair shop should be able to fix it.first call around ur parts store & have make ,year model, engine size, sometimes vin.number to see if it can be tested, last l knew they ran around $50 to $100 dollars USD just for the module, labor is extra which is a very simple job if that is the only problem..its called the ignition module l believe.Good luck

check the inertia switch 1st, or it could be the distributor -module and stator..

Ignition module, pick up coil in the distributor.Nothing to do with charging system.Something to do with distributor, where the computer sees that engine is cranking.
