l am looking into purchasing a 2000 F250 V8 Gasoline work truck with 220k miles on it and would like to know roughly how much life would be left in it mileage wise

It is obviously highway mileage. If the previous owner properly maintained it, l would expect another 100,000 miles before a large repair bill. Of course, you're going to have to live with replacing alternators, clutches, brakes, etc until then.

the key is proper maintenance, if it has been well maintained, it should last another 100k. it also would be important to know how it was driven the first 220k miles, hard, easy or in the middle, pulling trailers or just driven around town. 220k in 8 years sound like highway miles, you should be ok till 300k.

l just hit 250K with mine (bought it in 2006 with 175K) with no problems with either owner other than general maintenance. l drove it for work over the summer, my dad drove it the rest of the time, hauled machines & tools all over the upper Midwest, took it through sand, water, snow, u name it. That truck is a work horse, it will do its job & last u awhile. l will give u a fair warning, it is a really likes to chug the gas, mine gets about 12/10 mpg hwy/city, & its worse (like 8 mpg) if you're loaded down. l guess it all depends how u drive & what ur purposes are, if you're hauling trailers, off-roading, etc.
