l have an 89 ford f 150 302 just replaced the power steering pump, bled the system, and still have no power steering. maybe the ball joints are bad possibly the steering box?

l would suspect the steering gear.

The two main components of the steering gear box, Are a piston, & a spool valve. without going into the entire way it operates, simply when u turn the steering wheel to the left, fluid under pressure from the pump is routed to one side of the piston assisting the left turn turning the wheel right,reverses the procedure.
Assuming the new pump is not defective, the internal seals in the gear box have gone bad & r by-passing. Some auto shops have a pressure Gage they can hook onto the pressure side of the pump to test it.
