l have a 1994 ford probe that for some reason the overdrive light keeps flashing and now has made my check engine light come on. Now l have an OBD1 & OBD2scanner but l cant find the hook up to diagnose it and am stumbed if you might have any idea what l can do please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Auto tranny is having a problem.

l agree, the flashing indicates a trouble code.
Did you look under the steering column for the OB connector? l think there is a pop out panel, small piece of plastic that pops out revealing the connector.

The light is flashing because the processor has detected a fault. That year Probe may have EEC IV (Ford Electronic Control) or MECS (Mazda Electronic Control System) depending on the engine/trans combination. The 4 cylinder has the CD4E and EEC IV, where the 6 cylinder has the 4EAT and MECS. The test connectors are under the hood, left side of the engine compartment by the cowl. If the protective caps are not missing, they are labled.

O/D is shot.

The diagnostics box is under ur hood, next to ur battery along the driver is side fender. It is an EEC-IV car but it might still have an obd connector there too, can not remember. You can get the code without a scanner, just do this.
-Open ur hood & the diagnostics box next to the battery
-Take a paperclip & connect the ''TEN'' terminal to the ''GND'' terminal, use the GND in the 2nd row
-Turn ur ignition switch to ''On do not start the car
-Count the pulses of ur ''Check engine'' light. Long pulses = 10 & short pulses = 1. ie. long, long, long, short, short = code 32. There is a short pause between long & short pulses & a longer pause between codes, just in case there is a 0 in there not to confuse people.
