If it has dual exhaust it is 99% chance a GT, some v6 owners convert but most do not. If you go under the hood the engine will either be a 3.8 or a 4.6 a 4.6 is a GT engine, so go check and let us know

The car only has 2 options a coupe(hard top) & a convertible(soft top). A Mustang, Mustang GT(sohc) & Mustang Cobra(dohc) r the engine type/models

Well u can tell by the Vin(8TH number) if its a 4 then its a 3.8l v-6, X means its a 4.6l sohc v8, & V means its a 4.6l dohc v8.

Or it should say on both fenders & rear bumper, the gt will say well gt & the v6 will have just a pony l believe, bumper will either say mustang gt(v8) or just mustang(v6).

You can also look at the engine & see how many spark plugs r on each side of the engine

you can also count the coil pack,if there is 2 of them at the front of the motor(4 posts on each one) then its a v8 & if it only has one with 6 then u have a v6.

You can also look at the rear end as the v6 has a 7.5 rear end(3.08 gears?) & the v8 has an 8.8(3.27gears).

The speedo on a v6 only goes to 120mph were the v8 goes to 150mph.

exhaust as the guy above said, dual exhaust usually means v8 & a v6 only has one the comes out the drivers side(i believe)

The coupe came with a V-6 as standard equipment.The GT had the 4,6 sohc engine. l believe you would know instantly if it was a Cobra, since these are easily recognized by their 4.6L DOHC hand-built all aluminum engine. Hope that helps.
