Blue smoke is burning fuel, the question is abit vague to answer is it when your accelerating? stopped. If it was burning oil it would be white smoke.

It is an indication of engine wear. As you say it is burnt oil, not fuel. If it is otherwise okay have a mechanic look at it, it could well be rectified.

check the crankcase is properly vented. After a while the pipes become clogged and the casing vents up past the rings, hence the higher oil consumption.
