l have a 1998 Ford Escort and l have had the car since 2001. l noticed about a week or so ago that there was something dripping underneath my car. So l got down on the ground to see what it was and it is antifreeze. So l believe l have an antifreeze leak. Is this a problem that can lead into major problems with my car or is this something l can ignore for awhile. To be honest l have out enough money into this car!!!

It needs to be fixed. It may lead to overheating if not. Go to a nearby Autozone or partsplus and ask them to do a coolant pressure test on your vehicle. If it is leaking, you can locate it. It may be something simple like a hose, but it may be something bad like a waterpump. Regardless, get it fixed. Good Luck!

You have some time if it not just pouring out and causing the engine to get hot. If you are adding water to it once a week are so. . l would bet that you have a bad heater hose are a water pump that going bad . If it the water pump it will start out slow then just go out . Try to get it looked at soon as possible.

A few years ago, my car was leaking antifreeze. l left it for a while and just kept adding stop leak and topping up the antifreeze. It worked for a while until l did an oil change and realized the oil looked like a tim hortons double double!!!. Not Good. It was the head gasket or whatever l was told. anyway the antifreeze was leaking into my oil, needless to say there was far too much damage to even consider fixing. Get it looked at before it is too late!!
