It will not start nor run unless l have my foot on the accelerator a little. It will not idle and every time l put it in drive it stalls out. It feels like it is idling too low. It also runs very rough like its misfiring.

l know this is a common problem and there could be a number of things wrong with it. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

If u have a carburator, u will need to rebuild or replace it. If u have fuel injection, it sounds like ur injectors r stopped up. Running rough & missfiring can be the carb. or fuel inject. but it can also be a case of bad timming. The timing may just need to be adjusted. Take a 1/2 wrench & loosen the distribitor & turn it one way for only a small 1/4'' at a time. Make sure to mark where the distribitor is befor u start this process. You may need to put it back where it was.
If turning it one way makes it worse, then go the other way until it is better, worse, or no different.

Sounds like the symptoms of a vacuum leak. Use Vise-Grips to block off air to the brake booster & HVAC systems. Inspect all other vacuum lines to the EGR valve, BAP sensor ( l am not sure the '93 is have those), the EGR VSS (on the driver is side of the front cylinder head), & the carbon canister (driver side of vehicle, on frame rail behind the splash guard).
Also check that every cylinder is firing. Start the engine only when it is dead cold, & let it run for maybe 20 or 30 seconds, then shut it off. Touch each runner of both exhaust manifolds. If any feel cold to the touch, then it is not firing. l am assuming u have a 3.8: it is very important to know the rotation of the rotor. It is very easy to install the plug wires in reverse order, or make a mistake, & the engine will still run.
