Ford zetec 1.1 99 plate ?
Car has broken down stutters on start up and making a load putt putt sound. car has plenty of oil and water.
fuel is ok as well.
car stutters alot and stalls when driving a bad smell comes from it and when driving or going into higher gears it will not accelerate up takes a while to reach 40mph any ideas

Could be a knackered catalytic converter or oxygen sensor.

cat convertor collapsed, if the smell is like rotten eggs then this is your problem.

coil pack start the engine with 1 ht lead of the coil pack if it sounds the same repeat this with each lead until you find the 1 that is not firing do not take the lead of with the engine running it hurts
