when l put my foot in it, it kinda feels like its lost its power but when it gets to about 3,000 RPM it will put u in the back of the seat same thing for the other gears! l have stock rear in! l was told that l was getting to much gas or air? someone please help me!

i went to the track and ran a 12.45 OMG and its a mustang gt 89 l just got a brand new tranny put in today

New trans huh maybe the torque converter is bad 12.45 does not sound that bad

man.start with the basic.plug gaps firing voltage air in and exhaust...check you timing if you can advance it till you can just barely hear the valves ping and then back it of about 1/2 of a degree.be sure and take out your knock sensor and wrap it with a couple of wraps of telflon tape..good luck!

a set of 3:73 is would clear up that problem real quick.

l had the same thing happen to me, only difference was mine was a V8 thunderbird. Mine turned out to be the torque converter. My friend also had his torque converter go on his '89 Mustang GT. Have the torque converter checked and take it from there.

You didnt mention if it was AOD or 5-spd stick. If it is aod, l think the guys could be right about the torque converter not being set right, it should click in twice when installed, Ive heard of it happening before. However, l have a 5.0 mustang & had the same sort of problem before & it turned out that my MAF was messed up. One of the wires was dirty/corroded. l cleaned it with brake clean, but they make MAF cleaner, l guess its not as abrasive. It made my problem 100% better, but still got a new one from napa for $80, which totally remidied my problem. But yeah, 12.45, pretty damn impressive.

What trans? Auto or stick? that can help out a lot for your question.
