but it has not helped l cant even start the engine anymore (it grinds but it cant start because the truck is stopped) the truck is a 96 ford F150 manual transmission. if l can fix it without going anywhere tell me how please

Since you were out of fluid and put some in, as you said, you may have some air in the system. Air is not compressible and wo not let the hydraulic system operate properly. There should be a bleeder on the slave cylinder ( at the clutch arm) similar to what is on a brake wheel cylinder. Bleed the system, making sure to keep the master cylinder filled and you should be able to get it to release. Good luck with it.

If my memory serves me correctly, the slave cylinder on those are actually inside of the bell housing right behind the throw-out bearing. If yours is that way, you can try bleeding in, but since you ran out of fluid then you more than likely have a leak in your slave cylinder. Those slave cylinders take forever and a day to bleed, if you have to change the slave cylinder you have to remove the transmission If it is the style l am referring to.
