l have a ford Mustang transmission and l need to know what year and model it is.

l have a group of numbers and letters but do not know how to read them. l will post them below if someone can tell me what they mean that would be grateful. Or point me in the direction of a website were l can enter them in to find out what they mean.

Those numbers do not match to a ford transmission.
l would ask the guy you got it from where he got it.

you only need the numbers that is on a tag that is bolted to the trany you can go to ford online and get year and model most of the rest of the numbers are casting numbers. and they are not what you need.

The D9BR decodes as a 1979 Manual Transmission for a Fairmont. The 7F306 is consistent with Ford is general part number for Manual Transmissions. BB is revision.

The FR in front is not on top numbers but r found on the various lower level parts, u would most likely find this on the tail stock as that would be more unique to a car than the main casing, hence the D9BR for a Fairmont instead of a D9ZR for a Mustang.

The RUG leads me to believe it’s the Tremec RUG with Overdrive. These were built in that time frame. They r 3-speed w/OD transmission (4-speed), not the 5 speed. The FC is not found in the light duty trucks so this most likely came from a passenger car with lighter bearings, not as rugged.

Web sites support that these were found in Granadas, Fairmonts & Broncos in 1979-1980 era with smaller engines. One web site included the Mustang but is not generally supported by other sites.

Use ”Tremec RUG” in ur search engine for more data on this.
