its is a 4 cyclinder with 8 plugs. and sometimes smell gas. told it was spark plugs? what do you think? and also misses

Possible causes are plugs, wire, cap, rotor, timing, distributor issues...

Pull the plugs, do a compression test, and diagnose.

You do not have a dizzy to worry about.

l love coil packs and DIS.

My 94 4 cylinder Ranger with that same engine ran so well.

If you had change plugs or wires, you may have wires crossed, might have low fuel pressure

your halfway there.missfire,unburnt fuel into exhaust,full plug fire,hot exhaust gasses enter exhaust and bang.I'd suspect ht leads or more likley the coil packs,but dont discount the valve tappet clearances,if any are tight the valve will not seal and were back to hot exhaust gasses.get them checked,these days it seems most mechanics neglect them during a service(they are usually just too reliable).gl.
