Van always smokes, seems to go ok, am being followed by black cloud ! nothing obvious wrong, any ideas ? have seen many transits like this.

first job ids to change your diesel filter..if that doesnt cure it it may havve major engine/bore wear.

Do your air filter, and some injector cleaner. Black smoke is an over rich fuel . If the filter and or cleaner dose`nt work take it to some one that knows how to adjust the fuel ratio. Your wasting money with that unburnt fuel.
