seems like its losing a little oil and when running the ticking over sounds a bit louder than usual like a ticking sound does anyone have any idea what could be wrong thanks

change the oil, it might be the tappets as well you might be better putting it in for a service :-)

It sounds like lifters. if the ticking sound gets louder as you accelerate then it is lifters. Keep oil in it and get the oil leak fixed. But dont fill it up past the full oil marker on the dip stick.

Oil leak:

The most common places for the Ka to leak r the sump (look underneath & check that it is not all rusty & leaking); oil filter (they can get rusty if not changed often enough or if hit by something & then leak, they can also leak at the bottom where they join onto the engine); & the rocker cover gasket (the gasket underneath the metal cover on the top of the engine that normally says ''Endura - E'' on it''.

Ticking:

Most probably the valve clearances / tappets. Get them adjusted (they will replace the rocker cover gasket as well so that might sort ur oil leak too). Ford recommend that this is done at every service.
