no they said they didnt need the bailout money, but asked it be avaliable in case they needed it in the future.

They just asked for a $9 Billion line of credit not a direct cash infusion as GM and Chrysler did. Whether or not they have tapped the line of credit yet is any ones guess.

No, they did not get any money, & it is not a bailout anyways. Banks get bailed out, GM & Chrysler got bridge loans. Ford was proposing a $9 billion line of credit in case GM or Chrysler went down, which would dramatically affect Ford & its suppliers. So far, that line of credit is not in place, so they r still working to get that.

And to Chuck, l like to support all the American automakers, but seriously, where have u been? Chrysler is not known for being very high quality in terms of reliability or safety.

Ford was somewhat more proactive in foreseeing this crisis much earlier and hedged their funds against a cash flow crisis. l doubt that if the economy does not do a 180 pretty soon that they can continue to bleed and not go to Washington in the future with cup in hand.
